Our idea
Brazilian Tracks brings to you some of the most interesting Brazilian CDs.
Music featured on the shows Brazilian Hour and the Global Village. For years I
have been asked to offer my choice of Brazilian music to listeners and
friends.
Main goal
By selling music and promoting events we will raise funds to create VOZES
FOUNDATION. A nonprofit organization to raise funds for music education for
children in Brazil. A few years ago I went to film in Rio de Janeiro a
documentary and found a small music school in Penha. I got to meet the
people and the kids. Soon after, they invited me to their homes and I saw how
much potential and good future the children could have. Music brings them
joy, pride and a great sense of worth. So the first grass roots school we will
help is this very school "Meu Kantinho" located in the district of Penha in Rio
de Janeiro. The school is directed by the musician guitarist Cloves do Violao.
Music classes are offered to children of the Piqueri Community a shanty
town near Penha. The children are beautiful and very bright. I think we can
help the school. A simple idea that can grow.
20% of all sales will go to the creation of Vozes Foundation an organization
that will help music education of children. I little help can mean a lot and do
wonders..
